Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked 4sisters white rice
  • 2 large slices of fresh French bread, cubed (about 1 cup)
  • 3 cups half & half
  • 6 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • ¼ cup (½ stick) melted, unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. ground Nutmeg
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 cup golden raisins

Whiskey Sauce:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, (1 stick)
  • ½ cup half & half
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp. Whiskey (we used Makers Mark)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease an 8 x 8 square baking dish or pan.
  3. Mix all ingredients together, add to baking dish, and bake for 30-40 minutes or until firm in the center.
  4. While bread pudding bakes, make your whiskey sauce. Add all ingredients to a small pot on stovetop, bring to a low boil for 5 minutes. Let cool.
  5. Add whisky to sauce mixture when cooled.
  6. Remove bread pudding when done and serve warm topped with whiskey sauce.
